FORT MYERS, Fla.- Trigger finger is a painful condition that causes the fingers or thumb to lock when it’s bent.

WINK News health expert Dr. Michael Kim joins us Monday morning to talk about the common problem and how to treat it.

Trigger finger affects women more than men.
It’s most common in the thumb and ring finger.
If you let it go, treatment becomes more difficult.
2/3 of patients get better without surgery.

Treatment options:
1. Splinting
2. Injection
3. Open Release
4. Percutaneous Release
