MGN Online CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla.- Sheriff Bill Prummell is inviting local residents to attend the Citizens’ Police Academy 50th class. Starting Tuesday, June 30 for eight weeks attendees will attend weekly classes are held at the CCSO Administration building, 7474 Utilities Rd., Punta Gorda. CCSO Instructors from S.W.A.T., K-9, Forensics, Crime Scene Analysis and the Dive team, will demonstrate their particular field of expertise in detail. Plus the course also offers the opportunity to participate in a 12 hour ride along with a deputy. To be eligible to participate you must be at least 18 years of age, be a Charlotte County resident or work in Charlotte County, and undergo a background investigation and a criminal history check.
