Taste of the Beach celebrates 20 years

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. – Get ready for fresh seafood, live music and great times as the Fort Myers Beach Chamber celebrates another great season with the 20th Taste of the Beach.

Old San Carlos Boulevard will be lined with 17 local restaurants, featuring everything from fresh out of the Gulf seafood, to fall off the bone BBQ and cool ice cream.

Admission is $5 and food tickets are just $1.

Restaurants will also compete for best appetizer, best beef or veal dish, best seafood dish, best chicken dish, best dessert, best luncheon specialty dish, best decorated booth, and of-course people’s choice.

The servers from Fort Myers Beach will also test their speed, agility and dexterity in the famed server competition, with a $500 purse at 2 p.m. where they’ll run an obstacle course with a tray full of wine.

The Taste of the Beach kicks off at 11 a.m. on Sunday and runs until 4 p.m.

Old San Carlos Boulevard is located just down the street from Times Square and the pier.
