LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. – One person is dead after a rollover in Lehigh Acres Friday morning.

FHP confirms an 18-year-old died in the crash at Joel Boulevard and East 12th Street. It happened around 7:30 a.m.

Troopers say a driver was on Joel Boulevard, waiting to turn left onto East 12th Street when the teen came up speeding northbound and tried to go between the car and another truck towing a boat in the right northbound lane.

That’s when troopers say the teen clipped the back of the black car and spun out in front of the truck towing the boat. That truck pushed the teen’s car, also a truck, into the grass and it overturned. The teen was ejected and landed under the boat.

The other drivers involved were not hurt. The driver of the black car was a Lehigh Acres firefighter on his way to a fire station.

Neighbors in the area say it’s a very dangerous intersection.
