SANIBEL ISLAND, Fla.- WINK News has an update on Southwest Florida’s most famous bald eagle, Ozzie, as he continues to recover at the Clinic for Rehabilitation of Wildlife on Sanibel Island. You may remember Ozzie was injured by train tracks in Fort Myers in mid-March. Vets say his wing and shoulder bones are healing nicely, after they were severely fractured. Ozzie is also gaining weight and his energy is up too. Later this week, doctors say they’ll move Ozzie to a new flight cage and continue to monitor his rehab and progress. Doctors could release Ozzie back into the wild in about a month.
