FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla.- A Disney star spread magic across Fort Myers Beach Friday.

Ryan Potter made a special visit to Fort Myers Beach Elementary for film festival week. The actor had an important message to share with his fans.

You may recognize Potter’s voice as Hiro Hamada in Disney’s new animated hit, Big Hero 6.

The magic of Disney reached students at the elementary school. They gave the actor a big welcome, making sure he knows they are his biggest fans!

“My favorite part was taking a picture with him.”

“It was very exciting, you never get to see a movie actor or a voice actor.”

In the movie, Hiro is a robotics prodigy who develops a special bond with inflatable robot, Baymax. He puts together a super hero team to save his city from a villain. Even Baymax even made it to school Friday.

“It’s pure excitement on these kids faces, they can’t hide it,” said Potter.

This year’s theme of the Fort Myers Beach film festival is super heroes. Potter reminded his young fans, a super hero doesn’t just mean big muscles.

“There are other super powers out there that go unrecognized like being super smart,” said Potter.

The students were given a project to do in honor of the film festival. These are pictures of the students in action. They were asked to make a short about who they think a super hero is.

“The hardest part was editing.”

The students films will be shown at the Beach Theater Sunday at 3 p.m. Potter will be at the theater on Saturday at 11 a.m. for another event open to the public.
