CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla.- A 10 acre fire broke out Friday causing multiple fire departments to respond.

The initial call came in as four separate fires. Charlotte County fire immediately called in for additional help. Northport, Boca grande, Englewood, Charlotte County and a strike team helped battle the flames.

At one point, crews were guarding one house from the fire.

No one was hurt and no homes acquired any damage.

The fire was in the same area as another brush fire that happened three weeks ago. One homeowner told WINK News he was starting to get concerned his area is a hotspot for fires.

“We just moved here like a few weeks ago and it’s at the right area where we move to and we are a little bit concerned about it so close to the other fires. It’s so close to our house now,” said Hans Dettling.

The deputy fire chief says it’s that time of year when fires are likely to happen. No word yet on how this one started.
