PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – Get ready, set, go! Put together your best four person team and take part in the Y Men’s Group Charlotte Challenge. The annual event raises money and supports the youth programs for the YMCA of Charlotte County. Last year the event brought in more than $6,500 and they hope to meet or exceed that number this year. Four person teams are scored in the following seven events: Archery Obstacle Course English Steel Tip Darts Tug of War Bean Bag Toss Kayak Port and Paddle Basketball Shooting Teams of four can be any gender combination and all team members must be at least 18 years of age. Registration is $40 per person or $160 per team and $35 per person or $140 per team for Y members. A total of $1,000 in cash prizes will be awarded with the first place team taking home $500. Team sign in for the Charlotte Challenge starts at 7:30 a.m. with the games getting underway an hour later on Saturday, April 25th at the YMCA Dotzler Outdoor Center, located at 22801 Bayshore Drive in Port Charlotte.
