LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- Deputies need your help finding the driver responsible for hitting two women with a car.

A typical trip to the store for two women, turned into a hit-and-run investigation Saturday night.

“They were on their way to buy some diapers for the baby, they were walking on the grass, and then she didn’t remember anything.”

Andreneze Belzaire told us her story through a translator.

She says she and her friend were walking near 8th Avenue Southwest and Floyd Avenue South when “instead of the car going on the street, he was going on the grass.”

Deputies say the women were a good few feet on the shoulder of the road, in safe territory.

“What only she remembers, she was facedown on the ground, and her arm was hurting.”

Belzaire says her friend suffered a concussion, and wasn’t breathing at first, so she tried to save her.

“She call and shake her, until she push on her chest. Then she coughing and she wake up.”

Deputies say the driver hit a mailbox as well, leaving his passenger side mirror at the crime scene.

“Have a little bit more respect for people, we are all human beings.”

Deputies believe the driver was driving a 2009-2011 Ford F-150 but they are unsure of the color of the vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to call Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 800-780- TIPS (8477).
