CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla.- A Charlotte County Sheriff’s deputy has been fired amid allegations of buying cocaine, soliciting prostitutes, associating with criminals and trading drugs for sex.

A 23-page document obtained by WINK News has multiple witness testimonies about the allegations but the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit is still working to confirm or deny the truth.

The sheriff’s office did find Santana guilty of violating policy by associating with criminals. Text messages between Santana and known criminals show he was talking to them about confidential people and cases and “flirting” with the criminals.

Sheriff Bill Prummell says these relationships could affect a number of open cases and they’re now working to find out how many.

“I’m quite disgusted at his actions. My trust is completely lost,” said Sheriff Prummell.

As of right now, no criminal charges have been filed. Sheriff Prummell says if the narcotics unit finds him guilty of the allegations, the charges will be filed.
