Firefighters work brush fire in Cape Coral

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – Firefighters have confirmed they are working a brush fire near 1000 block of Northeast 28th Street.

Just before 6 p.m. Sunday, a heavy cloud of smoke could be seen from the WINK News sky camera in downtown Fort Myers.

The Battalion Chief told a WINK News crew on scene that the fire was roughly 20 acres, and they had five to seven acres contained. Firefighters also said the blaze was moving slowly, away from any homes.
