LEE COUNTY, Fla. – “At our most recent organizational meeting for the 11th Annual Pat Healey Memorial Poker Run for Fallen Heroes the organizational committee voted unanimously to provide proceeds raised at this event to the following individuals: Andrew Smith, who is the son of a Naples Chapter Defender retired CCSO Captain Tom Smith. Andrew is 24 years old and has been diagnosed with a rare bone cancer known as Pelvic Ewing Sarcoma. Andrew has endured weekly chemo therapy treatments since February 4, 2015. Recently a large piece of his pelvis was removed. At this time Andrew faces 6 more months of intense chemo therapy and needs assistance to continue his fight. Danielle DiBenedetto former Firefighter/Paramedic for South Trail Fire Department and former Lee County EMS Paramedic passed away on March 7, 2015, She left behind a son who is 10 years old who is in need of assistance. Crissy Hardin, wife of a former Marine and Lee County Deputy has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The family has twins who are 2 years old; and the family is in need of assistance with medical expenses during her treatment. The organizational committee realizes that there are many worthwhile individuals who require assistance.
