99 cats rescued from hoarding house, need homes

LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Lee County Domestic Animal Services recovered 99 cats from a hoarding house in east Fort Myers, and now those cats need new homes.

County officials tell WINK News the shelter is over capacity. All of the cages in the adult stray room are taken and the space in the free roam cat rooms is filled as well.

Animal Services is looking for anyone or any rescue groups or humane societies interested in adopting any of the cats. Some kittens have already been placed in foster care. The shelter hopes to find these cats new homes by this weekend.

WINK News is working to learn more about the conditions of the cats and the home they came from.
