NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla.- Authorities are investigating an armed robbery at a Wells Fargo bank. The robbery took place around 10:30 a.m. Monday at the bank located on Bayshore Road and New Post Road. Authorities tell WINK News this was a violent armed robbery. They say two masked suspects were able to get away in a silver or tan minivan with an undisclosed amount of cash. Carl Wilkie lives around the corner from the bank. He just happened to be across the street when deputies came rolling into action. “Next thing I know, there’s like 13, 14 cops come flying in and helicopters flying overhead,” said Wilkie.
