Fort Myers police investigate a murder on Cleveland

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Detectives are currently canvassing a neighborhood near the intersection of Cleveland and Braman Avenues looking for any witnesses connected to a murder.

Police were called to the area around 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Officers said the caller reported there was a man dead inside an apartment.

WINK News talked to Cynthia Scott, who said the man killed.

“I helped raise Junior up. Him and my children were very close,” she said. “I talked to him about going to church so he started going to church every Sunday regularly for the last couple of months and he would be there whether I was there or not.”

At the time this story was published, WINK News chose not to identify the man because police had not confirmed it.
