MGN LEE COUNTY, Fla. – Deputies said they have received several reports this weekend from elderly people, who said they are getting calls that there was a warrant for their arrest. The people said the caller claimed to be from the sheriff’s office and demanded the person buy a gift card and send them the numbers. The caller said the money was to cover a warrant. Deputies said this is a scam. You should never give out your personal information or money over the phone. Deputies said the scammers are targeting the elderly.
