Arcadia man killed in Easter Sunday crash

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. – A 55-year-old Arcadia man died in a crash on State Road 70 Sunday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol said Wilfred Calvin Jones was driving, when his truck drifted across all lanes of traffic and crashed into a tree. A passerby stopped to help after noticing the truck was on fire.

The man helped a 15-year-old passenger get out of the crashed truck. Both the passerby and teen were seriously burned and flown to a nearby hospital.

Troopers are still investigating whether alcohol played a factor in the crash.
