FORT MYERS, Fla.- Some very special guests made an appearance at the Red Sox spring training game Wednesday.

Survivors of the Boston Marathon bombings threw out the first pitch before the Red Sox game against the Blue Jays.

JetBlue Airways flew 19 of the survivors and their families to Southwest Florida. They tell WINK News they are overwhelmed by all the support.

“Even though we saw the worst in people from what happened to us, we’ve also seen the best out of people. So, it shines a different light on your life knowing that there’s that many people out there that care,” said Marc Fucarile.

“It was such a hard time and then the support, just the overwhelming support, and it’s just makes it that much better,” said Sydney Corcoran.

The survivors were welcomed to the ballpark with a standing ovation from fans at the game.
