Published: Updated:

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – Five people were arrested Saturday after deputies say the ring leader was bragging about how much money he was making and lead detectives to the group.

Lee county deputies told WINK News the group was involved in a home burglary on Jolly Roger Lane in Bonita Springs. They said on March 25, a homeowner reported his Mercedes-Benz was stolen along with more than a dozen firearms and $250,000 worth of gold coins.

During the investigation, deputies received a call about a suspicious vehicle in the 27000 block of Matheson Avenue in Bonita Springs. The vehicle matched the description of the stolen Mercedes. Investigators said they received word that 21-year-old Myles Winzenried was selling gold coins and bragging to friends about how much cash he was making.

According to Deputies, Winzenried allegedly gave a friend a black AR 15 with a flare launcher. Deputies got a search warrant for Winzenried’s home in the 11000 block of Cherry Drive in Bonita Springs.

Deputies said when they searched the residence they found numerous items matching the description of the stolen goods. They told WINK News information obtained during the investigation led to the call for the sheriff’s office dive team. Dive team members searched the water behind Winzenried’s residence and located the stolen safe.
