MGN ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – State health officials say an international attendee at a conference in central Florida last week was infected with measles. The Florida Department of Heath said Thursday that the person stayed at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center on March 16 and 17, but also visited Miami-Dade, Orange and Sarasota counties between March 14 and 20 while infectious. The Orlando Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1OBiGPR ) reports that officials said the person did not visit any area theme parks. Health department personnel are talking with conference organizers in an effort to notify other attendees who might have been exposed. The last measles case reported in central Florida was in 2013. National health guidelines suggest children receive the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine at around a year old and again around age 4.
