Port Charlotte man faces charges of animal cruelty

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla.- A Port Charlotte man is accused of abusing his dog so badly, its leg had to be amputated.

Dennis Wilson faces charges of animal cruelty for hurting Nova the beagle.

Charlotte County Animal Control made the arrest after someone tipped them off. A control officer found the dog with a severe leg fracture.

Nova has since been adopted and is doing well.
