LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. – A Lee County deputy is recovering from serious injuries after getting stabbed.

The deputy was responding to a fight early Monday morning on Arianne Court when she was hurt.

Tammy Rodriguez says it was just after 6 a.m., when the normally quiet block turned chaotic.

“We just saw police cars everywhere, lights, and there was a police officer hunched over a deputy,” said Rodriguez.

Public Information Officer Scott Lineberger says the deputy’s injuries are not life-threatening. He says the stabbing was “no accident.”

Right now, one person is in custody, but no arrests have been made.

Neighbors say the home at 706 Arianne Court was recently rented. They say around six to seven people live there.

“There are a lot of comings and goings, a lot of issues with a lot of arguing and partying,” said Rodriguez.

The deputy is recovering from her injuries. The sheriff’s office has not provided her name.
