FGCU ends season with 65-47 loss to FSU

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The record-breaking season is over for the FGCU women’s basketball team.

On Monday night, the 7th-seeded Eagles (31-3)  fell to 2nd-seeded Florida State 65-47.

Florida State started the game on a 17-2 run. But FGCU slowly narrowed the deficit, and ended the half trailing just 36-28.

The Eagles started the second half ice-cold, shooting 0-12 from the field.

Florida State started the second half on a 15-3 run. The Seminoles also won the battle down low, pulling down twice as many rebounds.

FGCU will return all but one starter next season. The Eagles lose just two seniors, including starting guard Jenna Cobb.
