Two people killed in tanker truck crash on Interstate 75

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – Two people were killed early Sunday morning after a truck towing a fuel tanker trailer ran into a pick-up truck on Interstate 75.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 4 a.m. on I-75 at mile marker 65. Troopers said a truck hauling a fuel tanker trailer hit the back of a Toyota Tacoma. The Tacoma then ran off the road and into the guardrail.

Two of three people in the Tacoma were killed. At the time this story was published, troopers had not released the identities of the people killed.

The driver of the other truck hauling the fuel tanker, 55-year-old Robert Catinella, suffered minor injuries.
