Enjoy sun, sand & shrimp at FMB’s 57th Annual Shrimp Festival

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla.- Thousands of people are in for a weekend of fun, activities, and of course, shrimp! The 57th Annual Shrimp Festival kicks off Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

This festival is the big shebang for the Lions Club, generating $50,000 for those in need.

Anyone wanting to attend the two-day event will want arrive early because the Matanzas Pass bridge will close from 9 a.m.- noon. You can also arrive through Bonita Beach Road instead, but warning, there is going to be traffic.

New this year, the festival kicks off with a 5k run Saturday morning and continues with the annual parade on Estero Boulevard at 10 a.m.

A lot of shrimp-related activities will follow, including the crowning of the Shrimp Festival Queen and a shrimp eating contest Sunday.
