Everblades trade for one of the top scorers in the league

ESTERO, FL – Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today that the team has acquired forward Casey Pierro-Zabotel from the Gwinnett Gladiators in exchange for forwards Jason Wilson, Jeff Silengo, and financial considerations.

Pierro-Zabotel, 26, joins the Everblades as one of the top scoring players in the ECHL having posted 60 points (23g, 37a) in 54 games played this season with Gwinnett. The 6-2, 205-pound forward has totaled 293 points (90g, 203a) in 342 games played during his ECHL career in stints with Gwinnett, Cincinnati, Bakersfield, and Wheeling from 2009-2015.

Pierro-Zabotel has logged three points (1g, 2a) in 17 AHL appearances split with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Charlotte, and Norfolk during his career. In addition, he collected 163 points during his two seasons with the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League (WHL) from 2007-09.

The Ashcroft, BC native was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the third round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Silengo joins the Gladiators having recorded six points (1g, 5a) in 33 games with the Everblades this season.

Wilson posted 15 points (8g, 7a) with 70 penalty minutes in 50 appearances with the ‘Blades.
