LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Detectives are still searching for a man who robbed a father and his daughter at gunpoint while the two were on their way to school.

Authorities are following up on a number of tips they received about the incident at the Lago Del Sol community.

Police say Tuesday around 7:15 a.m., a father and his daughter were headed to school when they were stopped by a man wearing all black.

They say the man demanded the father turn over his wallet. Fearing for his life, the victim did just that.

The suspect then ran off with the cash.

Neighbors say they are heartbroken this young girl had to witness the crime so close.

“I’m pretty sure the girl is traumatized. It is scary, she saw a gun and she didn’t know if her dad was going to make it or not,” said Raida Figueroa.

The suspect is described as being in his early 20s, with an average, well toned build, around 5 feet 7 inches tall.

Anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of this suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).  All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.  Tips may also be made online at www.swflcrimestoppers.org or by texting a tip to CRIMES (274637) Keyword: REWARD.
