MGN COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- Officials are asking people to be on the lookout for a man posing as a local hero to get your money. Deputies say the man has been spotted in a number of North Naples parking lots, including Publix, Wal-Mart, and Lowe’s. He claims his ATM card isn’t working and asks for cash. People who have run into the man say he tells them he works with the East Naples Fire Department. The fire chief says the man in question resigned in 2012. He was under investigation by the department for performance and attendance. Authorities are warning the public that it is a felony to mislead people to believe you’re a firefighter.
