LEE COUNTY, Fla.- An investigation into some stolen vehicles has turned into an investigation involving cases all over Southwest Florida. Authorities arrested 25-year-old Yadiel Valera and 31-year-old Carlos Manrique while police say they attempted to take two jet skis and two ATVs, that had been stolen out of Punta Gorda, across Alligator Alley heading to Miami. The investigation was initiated by the Cape Coral Police Detectives but quickly became a multi-jurisdictional investigation involving the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Punta Gorda Police Department, and Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. Lee County Sheriff’s Office Investigators assisted Cape Coral Police Detectives by continuing the investigation in Cape Coral and it was quickly determined that the suspects have been involved in several grand thefts across the jurisdictions mentioned above. The investigation is ongoing at this time and additional charges are pending.
