COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- New details on a school bus crash early Wednesday morning in Golden Gate Estates. It happened on 18th Avenue Northeast, off of Everglades Boulevard around 6:30 a.m. The bus was heading to Palmetto Ridge High School with five students on board when it stopped to pick up another student at a bus stop. Police say a Scion then crashed into the bus from behind. The 34-year-old driver of the Scion tells Florida Highway Patrol he was looking down at something at the time of the crash. He was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. According to authorities, no one on the bus was hurt.
