Fort Myers police investigate shots fired near liquor store

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Police are investigating a call for shots fired outside a liquor store.

Police told WINK News they were called to the area of Palm Beach Boulevard and Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard around 2 p.m. Sunday. A WINK News crew said there were bullet casings lying on the ground.

One man, who asked to not be identified, said he was inside buying alcohol when it happened. When he came outside, his car was riddled with bullets.

“Rapid fire, machine gun stuff was pow pow pow pow pow… The guy came out and shot out at the silver car but evidently hit this car,” said the witness.

Fort Myers police said no one was injured. They are still working to figure out exactly what happened.
