Deputies were called to the 4900 block of Centennial Boulevard around 12:50 a.m. Saturday, according to our partners at the News Press. When deputies arrived, they found a man with serious injuries. He was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital where he later died.

A WINK News crew on scene said there were several deputies searching the fields across Gunnery Road. A forensics team and canine were also assisting in the investigation.

Neighbors told WINK News that deputies were not releasing any information.

“I passed by here several times. I see different cars and different people in and out, and it kind of makes you wonder what’s going on,” said Clint Anderson.
