DENVER (AP) – The Denver Nuggets have sent veteran guard Arron Afflalo to the Portland Trail Blazers in a five-player deal. The Nuggets also included backup forward Alonzo Gee in the trade Thursday. General manager Tim Connelly says that in return, Denver received Thomas Robinson, Victor Claver and Will Barton, along with a lottery-protected first-round pick in 2016. Afflalo has averaged 14.5 points this season in his second stint with the Nuggets. He was reacquired by the team from Orlando in a draft-night trade last June. The Nuggets are shaking things up after a 20-33 start in coach Brian Shaw’s second season. They traded center Timofey Mozgov to Cleveland last month for two first-round picks. Yahoo! Sports first reported the trade.
