Rep. Curt Clawson stops by SWFL

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Republican Congressman Curt Clawson stopped by the WINK News studio Wednesday morning.

Clawson says he’d like to avoid a shutdown of Homeland Security, but Congress must oppose President Barack Obama’s moves on immigration.

“Most of the things people think about, TSA and border [patrol], that would continue because it’s essential,” said Clawson. “The House has done its job here, we’ve passed a bill that would fund the department fully. Now it’s time for the Senate to step up and do its job and take that under consideration and get it to the president’s desk.”

Clawson says he feels most comfortable with Kentucky Senator Rand Paul as a potential presidential candidate. However, he also says he could support Jeb Bush.
