Ohio State Tight End and Barron Collier Alum Jeff Heuerman is one of just 19 Tight Ends invited to this year’s NFL Combine.

His stats don’t jump off the page, but he’s projected to be one of the top Tight Ends taken in the NFL Draft.

“You hear a lot of things,” said Heuerman. “You’ll know more in these next few weeks, next two months before the draft, after the combine, after pro days. Plus, guys move around and teams will have different needs after free agency, too.”

Just a month ago, Heuerman helped his Ohio State Buckeyes win a National Championship. However, he’d been playing with a severely swollen ankle after tweaking it in the Sugar Bowl.

“I’m feeling good now. [I’m] trying to get this ankle healthy for this pre-draft process,” said Heuerman.

“But it’s going really good so far. I’ve been up at IMG combine training up there with a few other guys.”

Combine training is no joke. Heuerman’s day starts around 7 a.m. in the training room and ends around 4:30 p.m. with Wonderlic (an intelligence test used by the NFL) testing.

The NFL Combine starts February 17th in Indianapolis.
