Employee and job applicant arrested for robbing Wendy’s

ENGLEWOOD, Fla. – Charlotte County Sheriff’s said a Wendy’s employee and recent job applicant were arrested for reportedly robbing the fast food restaurant.

It happened at the Wendy’s in the 13,000 block of South McCall Road. Deputies said shortly after midnight, a man carrying a shotgun walked into the restaurant, reportedly ‘racked’ the shotgun and pointed it at employees. Deputies said the man took off, after getting the money.

The manager identified the suspect at 19-year-old Justin Michael Brown from Port Charlotte. The manager said Brown had recently applied for a job at the Wendy’s.

After interviewing witnesses, detectives found several discrepancies in an employee’s story. Detectives said employee, 21-year-old Frantz Montrel Clerjuste from Port Charlotte, opened the drive-thru so Brown could get in.

Deputies found Brown at his home less than eight hours after the robbery. He was arrested fro armed robbery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. WINK News checked. Brown was out on bond for another, unrelated arrest. He’s being held without bond.

Clerjuste was arrested for armed robbery.
