COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – The county said its insurance will pay for repairs to a woman’s home a day after chunks of wood went flying through the window, almost hitting her son.

The woman said a county employee was using a wood chipper outside her North Naples home when pieces went flying.

“I kept saying he’s gonna shoot my window out, I told my mom, sure enough he just took my whole window out,” said Sandy Kaiser. “Yesterday could have really been a catastrophe. Myself or my son could have really gotten hurt or even worse god for bid.”

A county worker was back out there early Wednesday morning with a wood chipper. But this time, another worker was watching the process. The county tells WINK News he was there to make sure the machine was working the way it was suppose to.

But Kaiser doesn’t think so. We found more chunks of wood in her neighbors backyard.

“It could hit a human being, a child and it’s going down there and stuff is still flying don’t… it’s not over.”

Even thought the county made temporary repairs to Kaiser’s window on Tuesday, she had to take it down for an appraiser to look at the damage Wednesday morning.

The county tells WINK News final repairs should be done by next week.

“That’s not acceptable to me. I’ve got a broken window that’s not my fault, and I want it done sooner than that.”
