Port Charlotte man facing lewd battery charges

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla.- A Port Charlotte man is behind bars after police say he inappropriately touched two patients at a mental health hospital in Sarasota.

Jeremy Henr works as a psychiatric technician at the Bayside Center for Behavioral Health.

Police arrested Henr on two counts of felony lewd battery.

Investigators say he touched two 15-year-old girls who were seeking treatment at the facility.

WINK News spoke with some of his neighbors in Port Charlotte who say they are disgusted.

“I thought it was really nasty ’cause, I wouldn’t want someone messing with my daughter the way that would be,” said Doug Harris.

“If you’re doing your job, that’s just not right. You know it’s pretty gross… terrible really. That you would take advantage of a patient that’s supposed to be somebody you’re helping,” said Mitchell Dudley.

Sarasota police believe there may be more victims as well.

If you have any information, call Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
