COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- Naples junior football player Tyler Byrd announced on his Twitter page that he’s going to attend the University of Miami after verbally committing to the University of Florida in the summer of 2013.

In his Twitter post Byrd wrote: “I love the Gators and thank all of #GatorNation for your support but I will be futher my education at The U.”

Byrd (6-0, 195-lbs.) is a four star (out of five) recruit. He plays wide receiver and cornerback for the Golden Eagles, it’s expected he’ll play defense for the Hurricanes.

Miami now has 13 commitments for 2016, five more than any other team in the country.

Class of 2015 athletes will sign National Letter’s of Intent throughout Southwest Florida on Wednesday. Byrd will have to wait until next year to make his commitment to Miami official.
