EAST NAPLES, Fla. – Construction on a cluster of restaurants coming to area could soon get underway. It’s being called Restaurant Row Naples, which is a seven acre stretch along Collier Boulevard in between Triangle Boulevard and US 41 East.

“We’ve all been hoping for and praying for the start and redevelopment, the start of new development,” said Collier County Commissioner Donna Fiala.

A long strip of grassy area, where the project will be built, has residents in East Naples excited about what’s to come.

“I understand there are some serious plans to create, I think they call it Restaurant Row, and to my mind that’s a very positive development,” said Brian Churchill.

Charlie Ladd, president of Barron Commercial Development, tells WINK News only Starbucks has signed on the dotted line but four restaurants and a retail store are in the works.

“I’d like to see kind of a diversity of restaurants, like one might find on 5th and 3rd, at least one or two upscale restaurants,” said Churchill.

As of right now, the only restaurants in this area are Carrabba’s and Outback. “It’s always very crowded, it’s always great restaurant, but you really have to drive a long ways to find some competition and it looks as though that’s going to change now,” said Churchill.

“He’s [Ladd] hoping to have at least some of them open and ready for business at the end of fall, beginning of season so we’d love to see that” said Commissioner Fiala.

Next week, Ladd will be applying for a site development plan through the county. He tells WINK News they hope to start construction in 90 days.
