FORT MYERS, Fla. – It may be the perfect way to spend a January Saturday in Florida, trying some of the best chili around and helping some local charities at the same time. The event will look for the tastiest chili all while raising money for Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida. Prizes and places for the best chili will be awarded based on votes from event attendees, the public is encouraged to come out and taste chili. Festivities kick off at 11 a.m. and run until 2 p.m. with a $10 entry fee for participants that will be donated to charity. All participants must bring at-least one crockpot full of their chili to ensure enough for all of the judges. First place and the tastiest chili will receive a $150 gift card and a specialty gift basket, second place will receive a $75 gift certificate and third place will receive a $25 gift certificate.
