Former school tutor gets 25 years in prison for molesting 10-year-old

LEE COUNTY, Fla.- A 12-year-old girl says she’s living a total nightmare after she was molested by a school tutor.

Tuesday, the victim faced her abuser, 66-year-old Gregory Lancaster, in court.

Lancaster will spend 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to his crimes.

“Every night I have nightmares,” said the victim in court today.

“Remember everyone picking on me, lost a whole lot of friends.”

The victim was asked to testify in Lancaster’s trial.

“I regret ever going to school in the 4th grade.”

Minutes before her testimony was to begin, Lancaster plead guilty to molesting the 12-year-old, who was 10 at the time.

Yet, she chose to speak anyway.

“She is one brave little girl, she is fantastic. I think she’s doing better everyday, but she will never forget what happened to her,” said Stephanie Russell, State Attorney’s Office.

The sexual assault happened during a tutoring session at Villas Elementary. Deputies say Lancaster fondled her and forced her to watch child porn that involved animals.

Authorities say he asked her not to tell anyone, but instead, she came forward.

“The next 25 years, he’ll be in prison day for day. There is no early release,” said Russell.

Lancaster worked as a private tutor for a company called Alternative Unlimited which was a contractor for the Lee County School District.

Since the crime happened last January, the district says tutors are no longer allowed to be alone with students.

Another adult must always be present.
