COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – The live auction at this year’s Naples Winter Wine Festival raised more than $12.1 million and donations are still coming in. Since 2001 the Festival’s inception has raised over $135 million in support of initiatives to help children in need in Collier County. Saturday’s big outcome came from 63 exclusive auction items ranging from exceptional wine and culinary experiences to limited cars and exotic travel packages. The auctions top single bid was for $500,000. It went for the ultimate “Krug Experience,” complete with a collection of Krug’s most notable bottles and a private, multi-day visit to the champagne house’s French estate. All auction lots were donated. All proceeds will go to support the Naples Children & Education Foundation, which has given out annual grants to over 40 non-profit agencies and has impacted the lives of about 200,000 children.
