PUNTA GORDA, Fla.- A teen is under arrest for brandishing a gun at a high school basketball game.

Police identified the suspect as 18-year-old Rodney Lamb Jr.

Authorities say Lamb and two friends went to Charlotte High School last Friday to watch a basketball game. After the game, police say they were involved in a verbal altercation in the parking lot with a group of kids.

Lamb allegedly brandished the weapon during the altercation, however, they all fled the scene shortly afterwards.

A witness was able to give officers a description of the suspect and what he was wearing. The witness also told authorities the suspect fled the scene as a passenger in a silver vehicle and provided the license plate number.

Police responded to the address of where the suspect’s vehicle was registered to and attempted to locate Lamb.

The North Port Police Department was able to make contact with the teen who was driving the vehicle during the incident, but police say he was uncooperative during the investigation.

Wednesday, officials made contact with Lamb’s stepfather who agreed to bring the teen to the police department for questioning.

Lamb is facing charges for possessing a firearm on school property.
