MIAMI (AP) – Two Pakistani-born brothers are due in court to face new terrorism-related charges and attempted murder counts stemming from an alleged attack on two deputy U.S. marshals.

An arraignment hearing on a new indictment is set Thursday for 32-year-old Sheheryar Alam Qazi and 22-year-old Raees Alam Qazi.

They already faced terror-related charges stemming from an alleged plot to blow up New York City landmarks in retaliation for U.S. drone attacks overseas. The new counts include a conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction charge that carries a potential life sentence.

Prosecutors say the brothers, shouting “God is great” in Arabic, attacked the U.S. marshals while being escorted in the Miami courthouse complex in April. The extent of their injuries was not released.

The brothers previously pleaded not guilty.
