On Saturday at 4 a.m., Fort Myers police responded to a call of a man down in the 3000 block of Broadway Avenue. When officers arrived, they pronounced Thibeau dead.

WINK News talked to Pablo Canul, who said he was the Thibeau’s roommate. He described Thibeau as a hardworking man, who often walked home from work late at night.

“He’s a very nice man, and I mean always hopeful, always hard-working person,” Thibeau said. “He had to walk all the way home at like 12 at night…That was probably the most dangerous thing he did. He had to pay the price with his own life, which is pretty sad.”
