Fort Myers Edison Bridge car in River

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Edison Bridge is back open, after a car crashed and landed in the water. It happened around 2:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the bridge on the Fort Myers side.

The vehicle did land into the water but did not submerge completely.

First responders tell WINK News that only one person was in the car at the time of the crash. The driver’s condition is not known, but they were sent to the hospital.
