Candle causes apartment fire in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. – At least one family was displaced after an apartment fire Saturday evening.

Crews were called to the Woodside Apartments, near Van Buren Street and Palm Beach Boulevard around 9 p.m. Saturday. Crews told a WINK News crew on scene that a candle inside the apartment caused the fire.

WINK News talked to the renter of the apartment, Domingo Rodriguez. He said everything in his apartment was destroyed. Video taken at the scene shows charred marks on the outside of the building.

At the time this story was published, crews still had not let anyone into the building. No one was injured.
