Water main break causes mess in East Naples

Published: Updated:

NAPLES, Fla.- A major water main break in East Naples caused a mess, as water bubbled onto the roadway.

It happened around 9 p.m. Thursday night at 8065 Lely Cultural Parkway near Collier Boulevard.

Deputies are making sure the water main break did not cause a sink hole.

The road was shut down for hours while crews worked to find the source of the break and shut it off.

People living in apartment complexes nearby say they still had water but were worried about whether it was safe to drink.

As of 2 a.m. just one westbound lane of Lely Cultural Parkway remained closed.
