PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Police are investigating a domestic dispute at a home Tuesday morning.

Officials were called shortly after 9 a.m. to the home on Floral Lane.

According to authorities, two men and a baby were injured during the violent fight.

James Terrell, 24, was placed under arrest.

“I was in my room, I heard some fighting going on, I come out and the two men are wrestling, fighting, the next thing I know, I see blood all over the floor,” said Kyle Sweeney.

Sweeney says his roommate’s infant son was hurt during a violent scuffle between two men.

“She came over here with the baby, knocking on their door, I come out here and I see the baby had a slice on his forehead.”

He says one of the men was stabbed and ran across the street before falling in the driveway. The injured man was airlifted to a Lee County hospital.

Deputies say Terrell ran from the house after the fight, but was later found nearby. He was also injured and taken to the hospital.

Roommates of the people involved say this isn’t the first time authorities have had to come to the house, but they say the child’s mother never wanted to press charges.

“It could have been taken care of three weeks ago, in a different way. With these guys right here, the police. Call the cops, that’s what they’re here for, to help us,” said Patrick Sweeney.
